Maine-based Oxford Networks was founded back in 1900 as the Oxford County Telephone & Telegraph Company. In 2001, Oxford became Maine's first facilities-based overbuild CLEC offering services to both residential and business customers in Norway, Maine, using copper and FTTP technology.

Two years later, in 2003, Oxford Networks expanded to the cities of Lewiston and Auburn with FTTP technology enabling them to offer voice, data and digital cable television. In 2004, the company made a made network upgrade, which brought its core backbone fiber optic ring to OC-192. Oxford now serves both residential and business customers throughout Maine, as well as business customers in New Hampshire.

The company owns and operates over 460 miles of fiber carrying voice, digital cable television, Internet, and data. Oxford Networks' enterprise customers include local telephone, long distance, cellular and Internet service providers, as well as other businesses. In the coming years, Oxford plans to continue to expand its network throughout the Northeast.

In 2001, Oxford Networks received Maine's Governor's Award for Business Excellence, and in 2004 the company was awarded the Business Development Achievement Award by the Androscoggin Valley Council of Governors.

Oxford Networks' services include:

  • High-speed Internet
  • Local and long distance phone service
  • DS1/DS3
  • OC level fiber connectivity
