Ameritech Information Industry Services—the wholesale business unit of Chicago-based Ameritech—exclusively serves the unique needs of third party providers.

Ameritech Service Area Ameritech offers a suite of products designed to meet the data intensive needs of Internet and Network Service Providers. Ameritech's ISP products include Synchronous Optical Network (SONET) transport services and two ISDN options, among other advanced access programs. Ameritech ISDN options include Primary Rate ISDN, which can carry voice, circuit-switched data and packet-switched data on different channels of the same physical circuit and ISDN Prime, a digital data service. ISDN Prime is designed for ISPs to provide users with 128Kbps download speeds and while simultaneously allowing voice services to remain connected.

Ameritech Digital Transport Service-Enhanced (ADTS-E) is a digital trunking service which supports 56K modems, which may cost less than standard DS1/T1 services. However, conventional dedicated service plans are also from Ameritech. Programs include DS1(T1) and DS3(T3) connections.

Finally, Ameritech offers two different Point-of-Presence solutions. Its single PoP solution is dubbed Ensemble, which allows provides to offer local dialup numbers to subscribers within Ameritech's service footprint.

Ameritech's virtual PoP solution is called OmniPresence, which allows ISPs to virtually appear in remote CO's. OmniPresence leverages Ameritech's public network, which may help ISPs expand services faster, with greater flexibly and cost-efficiently than constructing your own private network.
